The most important way for a Bride to preserve the memories of her wedding day is through Videography.
The most important way for a Bride to preserve the memories of her wedding day is through Videography.

Whats the most important way for any bride to preserve the memories of her wedding day? Simply, a video recording of the affair! We all know the saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words," well it's true for a photograph, but a video has the capability of saying it ALL. A recent poll was conducted where men & women alike were asked if they would rather look at a photo album or a video of their family - the video reigned supreme and truly is a must for all weddings. Since we all agree about the importance of a wedding video, the next important item is finding
the best videographer to capture the essence of your day and the love shared by all.
Your video (and your photographs), unlike the contributions of other vendors, are the “to have and to hold” parts of your wedding celebration. They endure -- long after the bouquets have withered, the top of the cake has been taken out of the freezer and shared at an anniversary dinner, and your dress has been dry-cleaned and stored in the closet. Only the video brings back the voices, the laughter, the music, sights, sounds, colors and ambiance. It is a visual heirloom that preserves moments to be relived and to be shared with people who weren’t present (or weren’t even born). As time goes by, brides realize that their video was an investment. When they were looking for a caterer or a florist, they were shopping for an occasion. When they were choosing a videographer, they were indeed arranging to buy something that would last aslong as their wedding rings.
I'm often asked what one should look for in choosing a videographer and I mentally refer back to the female filmmaker, Dawn Dubriel, CEO of XOXO Boutique Wedding Films & Video based in south Florida. In my humble opinion, a female filmmaker has the sensitivity and romantic heart to understand what a bride deems important and is
cognizant to feature the bride and groom in the most flattering shots. After viewing a portfolio of Dawn's vintage wedding videos, I contacted her for an interview.
I have viewed many a wedding video and some have been such a disorganized hot mess or so cliche, that I felt sorry that this was the "keepsake" that the bride had been bestowed, especially when learning of the prices charged. Dawn explained that no matter how passionate a wedding videographer may be about their work, experience in the field is a definite prerequisite. Before launching XOXO Boutique in 2009,
Dawn worked for the best in the industry in NYC, LA & Miami. What she learned from her reputable mentors is that first and foremost you need to be the best in your craft, the consummate professional and to exercise the art of listening to the bride's needs and wants. What she found missing in many instances was the sincere caring that is needed to ensure the highest quality production. According to Dawn,
"most wedding video production companies merely look at booking a wedding as another gig in the list of many. My perspective is that I've been given the highest of honors to have been chosen to partake in a bride's special day and as they are making a commitment to spend the rest of their lives with their love,
I'm going to make them a commitment to exceed their expectations in capturing the day that they say, I do!"
The key to Dawn's success is, "you must love what you do & be able to capture it on film for all to see." XOXO Boutique will spend time with the bride to fully understand her vision, scout the location of the affair to know far in advance the most beautiful places in which to shoot the couple. Dawn studies the lighting and acoustics and coordinates a shot list to unfold the love story in the most compelling and heartfelt manner. She will direct the shoot as if it is a motion
picture and uses the best equipment available to ensure the highest quality footage. Many videographers merely shoot the video and pass the footage to an editor to edit what that person thinks is the best piece. Dawn explained, "I handle the shoot from the beginning to end & pride myself in doing all of my own editing. I'm totally hands on and collaborate with the bride until final sign-off." This approach is what has earned Dawn Dubriel the best compliment of all, word-of-mouth referrals.
So, when your making such an important investment for your wedding day, make sure
your videographer is well experienced, highly recommended by other brides and that you've reviewed their portfolio of work. Better yet, contact Dawn Dubriel of XOXO Boutique for a free consultation and learn from the best what you should expect and what you deserve! XOXO Boutique is local to Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Coral Gables,
Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach. Because they're experienced filmmakers with a passion for what they do and produce such fine work, it is not uncommon for brides to choose them do their weddings whether in NYC, PA, or Chicago. XOXO Boutique is also able to travel for Destination and/or Themed weddings.
